Drymen is a Stirlingshire village falling within the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park.  It is on the route for the West Highland Way and is noted for being the eastern gateway to Loch Lomond via the B837 to Balmaha.  It is only some 17 miles from Glasgow city centre and some 11 miles to the suburbs of Bearsden and Milngavie.  Stirling is approximately 22 miles away, with Edinburgh some 55 miles.  It is surrounded by wonderful countryside.  Within it there are two hotels, including The Buchanan Arms, which has a leisure club with swimming pool. Drymen is home to Scotland’s oldest licensed pub, The Clachan, dating to 1734.  It has a few quality independent retailers and a well stocked general store (Spar). For schooling Drymen has a primary school and nursery within the village and secondary schooling in nearby Balfron, at Balfron High School.
