The semi-detached villas built by John Macdonald in the Burnbrae area are amongst Bearsden's most popular. Well proportioned, well built, and with good ceiling heights they are excellent family homes and also finding favour with couples too. Built in the 1930s, and 1950s, they sit upon, generally, good sized gardens.
This house is one of the models finished in white-painted render. The roof has been retiled with a smart, flat, roof tile, with dry-ridging - a big expense and future proofing for many years to come. Cavity wall insulation was installed in 2006. Windows have been replaced with quality CR Smith double glazed units (2013), and the gas central heating system has a Worcester Greenstar 28CDi condensing combination boiler (installed 2015 and regularly serviced). The bathroom is equipped with a smart white suite, is fully tiled, and has an electric Mira Sprint shower set over the bath. Kitchen units are of an older vintage in hi-gloss and is being sold with all appliances as seen (gas hob, oven, washing machine, fridge-freezer). Rather usefully, the attic space has been fully floored, lined, carpeted, and has two Velux windows - a very useful ancillary space accessed via a wooden loft-ladder and hatch. Whilst much of the house is carpeted there is oak flooring in the lounge and dining room with beech in the hall and kitchen.
